Deborah Yakubu has finally been buried in her hometown of Tunga Magajiya, in Rijau local government area of Niger State where she lived with her parents in Old Airport Road area of Sokoto metropolis.
She was buried around 6:30pm at the Christian cemetery in Tunga Magaiya after her uncle, Emmanuel Maaji, who is the Pastor of ECWA in Tunga Magajiya, led the prayers.
Deborah was a Home Economics student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, she was killed by fellow students for alleged blasphemy for insulting Prophet Mohammed.
The 200-level student was lynched and her body burned by some male Muslim students after beign forcefully removed from a security room where she was hidden by school authorities.
The Sokoto State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two suspects in connection with the lynching of Deborah.
A statement by Sanusi Abubakar, the police public relations officer in the state, said other suspects caught in the viral video on Twitter “will soon be nailed too.
The school has since been closed down and armed forces deployed to provide security at the school premises.
